Worrying statistics show businesses still without information security strategies

19th October 2016

Information security has remained a high priority for all organisations in 2016, big and small. Data breaches continue to occur in all industries, and the frequency of these violations will increase in 2017 unless organisations take control now.

As little as one-third of businesses have information security strategies in place.  According to new findings from Tripwire, whose 2016 Security Challenge Survey of over 500 IT security professionals also found 60% of respondents admitted to not being confident that all of their network-connected devices receive updates in a timely fashion.

So what are the biggest information security challenges to overcome in 2016?

– Compromised credentials and devices
– Lateral hacker movement/breach containment
– Stitched-together security

As more diverse devices and systems are deployed, the management of these becomes more difficult. Organisations need to have a strategy now, before an incident occurs.
